You know how your already tall for a 12 year old has a growth spurt approximately two months after you bought her all kinds of clothes for school and you have to go out and buy her more clothes and then she outgrows her insulin pump?

Just me?

Afterlight

Zoe now wears a size 10 shoe and is *almost* 5’9 and that rinky pump isn’t going to cut it. Well, it did cut it, but on the third day with her set she was coming home from school with no insulin, running on e but her blood sugar was sky high.

Her doctor said she would need the larger pump that held more insulin eventually, we just didn’t think eventually was two months later.

I called Medtronic and I was totally petrified because all things medical and insurance related scare me even though I’m an adult and we have excellent insurance. I mean, like no premium-everything is covered-no copay-$5 for all prescriptions kind of excellent (thanks UPS). But what kind of company offers up to exchange a medical device?

Let me just say thank squirrels for Medtronic and their cross exchange program.

Afterlight

After the completely non-scary telephone conversation with the nicest human on the planet at Medtronic, Zoe had her new, larger pump, the MiniMed Paradigm Revel 723, two days later.

I’ve had a harder time returning a pair of jeans, you guys. Medtronic for the win.
