Escape From Planet Earth was released nationwide February 15th and we took the kids to see it this weekend.

The 3D CG animated film takes place on planet Baab. Scorch Supernova (Brendan Frasier) is the #1 astronaut and a national hero to the planet populated by blue aliens. His studious by the book brother Gary (Rob Coddry) is the head of mission control at BASA.  BASA’s chief Lena (Jessica Alba) sends Scorch on a dangerous mission to a very dangerous planet and finds himself captured. Shanker (WIlliam Shatner!) is the mastermind on the evil planet and Gary’s wife Kira (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Gary’s son manage to get mixed up in the straight danger as well, so Gary decides to pull off the real rescue.

The dangerous planet? Earth.

It will come as a surprise to no one that my little five year old space freak adored this film. I enjoyed that the film’s message was based heavily around always love your family. I don’t want to give too much of the plot away except this movie is very cute and aliens probably invented social media.
