Hooray, It’s An Oreck Magnesium Giveaway!

(I didn’t mean for that to rhyme.)

How are you? Long time no blog. I hope you had a very Happy New Year.

Perhaps your new year’s resolution is to keep a clean(er) house?

I’m trying, I really am. It’s hard when you have small people going right behind you and eating crackers on the couch, ahem.

Crackers on the couch + small people = crackers on the floor/under couch cushions

And that’s why I said “HECK YES” when Oreck offered to send me a new Oreck Magnesium SP vacuum cleaner. I totally need all the help I can get.  Isn’t it a nice, respectable vacuum?

I love it more than I thought I would.

The Oreck Magnesium SP vacuum only weighs seven pounds, it is the lightest vacuum ever.  My purse is seriously heavier than this vacuum.  The Magnesium SP gets its name because the frame is made from magnesium and is stronger than many types of steel.  I find this very impressive, like I would totally work this into a conversation if you came over to my house and complimented my vacuum.

Oh, you like it?  You know, the frame is made from magnesium, they say it’s stronger than steel.

We only have carpet in our bedrooms and office, but the Magnesium goes from hardwood floors, rugs, carpet like a champ, you just push one little button on the back to make it happen.  This lightweight vacuum really does have major suction power.

It also can lay entirely flat to roll under beds.  I do not have a photo to show you because that would mean I actually thought to vacuum under the beds.

They also graciously sent over the Oreck Ultimate Handheld Vac.  It might look small, but it sucks like a boss.  And that’s a total compliment.

It comes with five attachments: telescoping extension wand, dusting brush, crevice tool, upholstery tool, and a large floor tool with plush horsehair fibers (fancy).  It also has an adjustable strap, so you can wear it around like a purse and hit all the disgusting parts of your house on the go.  In my house, that’s the baseboards, underneath the couch cushions, the entry way where little grains of dirt get stuck in the door jam, the vents, between the washer and dryer where my husband spills detergent, under the dining table, the ceiling fan blades…you get the idea.

I tried to get an action shot of myself wearing the purse vacuum, but my photographer is five years old and this is what I got. He snapped this and went back to his couch crackers.

I adore my the Ultimate Handheld Vac, it gets the job done.  It has a five foot slinky hose and a 20 ft. cord.  The 20 ft. cord is a game changer, trust.  I can go all the way up the stairs without stopping to unplug and change outlets, it’s the little things, you guys.

The both are outfitted with HEPA filters and they both also use disposable vacuum bags.  I seem to change the handheld one frequently, mostly because I use it every single day and suck up our filth.

Two major thumbs up for this cleaning power team.  They suck, but in a totally awesome way.

I learned the Magnesium’s rollerbrush rotates 7,000 revolutions per minute. That’s astounding and I want that for my home!
