Boom Boom Pow
I love the fourth of July. Actually the entire month of July is my all time favorite month of the year. I mean, you get to light stuff on fire, BBQ a lot and it’s my birthday at the end of the month, so that’s a bonus because I get presents.
Everything is just so festive, like these cupcakes. I totally bought them, I’m not gonna lie. I can’t be bothered with baking in the summer, actually I can’t be bothered with baking the rest of the year either, but I did take them out of the package and arrange them thoughtfully on my grandmother’s cake stand.
It’s also acceptable to encourage and allow your children to play with fire. Zoe isn’t really down with it, it’s like I’m not even sure if she’s mine.
Troy is majorly down with it and managed to actually hold a lit sparkler without being rushed to Urgent Care. Also, not pictured: Jeff standing five inches away from Troy with a first aid kit.
It rained like a mofo here and we didn’t get to see the fireworks, or “boomers” as Troy calls them, on the fourth. I was seriously sad and minorly depressed, so I ate three cupcakes. The fireworks were rescheduled for Monday, so I made everyone go to that and pretend like it was the fourth.
And I definitely did not have a cupcake for breakfast today.

Yummy, cupcakes! It rained in my area of Colorado too during the city fireworks show..but they kept it going. I missed most of them since I was too busy trying to take pictures of the lighting popping all over the sky. It was a little intimidating, but I got some pretty good shots :0)

They cancelled ours due to rain too and didn't reschedule them. Boohoo. I did get to have a really big bonfire on the 3rd so I guess that sort of counts!

I went home for vacation on the 4th and let me tell you – I walked by those cupcakes about 10 times at the store. So festive and full of sugar. I have NO clue where my power to avoid them came from and instead gorged myself on watermelon. Only down fall to this – I can't get the cupcakes out of my head and I will obsess about them until I eat one, or 10… ugh… damn diet!
