Who’s Gonna Run This Town Tonight?

My guess is Napoleon.

black squirrel?

Our favorite little cat/rabbit/squirrel/fox/lynx/chupacabra/jackalope went in for a wash/blow out and possibly a mani/pedi and he’s back. And he’s ready to show us what he’s all about.

You know, bread heels…

napoleon-again

hopping with bread heels…

up

and climbing trees.

climbing

The following is probably the most important photo I have ever taken in my life. I’m thinking of having it blown up to 3 foot by 5 foot on canvas. I want to hang it in my entry so it’s the first thing you see when you walk in.

o.m.g.

I didn’t think Napoleon was into trees, but he climbed up and down the trees in the backyard for a good 15 minutes. And I have 265 photos to prove it.

napoleon+bread heel

I think Napoleon is thoughtful. Obviously he reads the blog and knows that you people are WAY in to cat/rabbit/squirrel/fox/lynx/chupacabra/jackalope type animals. He’s just giving the people what they want.

going down

And get this. Napoleon JUMPS from tree to tree. Like a monkey. So now we might have a cat/rabbit/squirrel/fox/lynx/chupacabra/jackalope/monkey on our hands.

in the tree

My apologies if Napoleon bores you. I swear this blog won’t turn into a crazy lady who loves cat/rabbit/squirrel/fox/lynx/chupacabra/jackalope/monkey looking animals.

careful

Or is it too late?

Momma loves you, Napoleon.

It is too late – but how crazy are we for lovin' us some Napoleon and we don't even get to seem him in person? Napoleon ROCKS the forest!

    Oh, it's way too late!

napoleon could NEVER bore me!!!! perish the thought!

  • lisa

Does he have red on him? It looks like it in one picture but it's hard to tell.

Also, the shot of him "jumping" from tree to tree makes him look like a flying squirrel!

  • Something Happened Somewhere Turning

Okay, we know it's a scavenger. But is it an Omnivore, Herbivore or Carnivore? I think your next step is to go to your local zoologist and ask, "What the Ef, zoo man?" and see what he has to say.
I think whatever you have running around in your back yard is "Precious."
It kind of looks like a Vizcacha, except it looks darker, and then there's the thing about it living in the wrong area. Maybe somebody lost one.
    Have a nice weekend, Zak.

What a great set of pics! Isn't it wonderful that someone/thing likes the heel? I'm still sticking to black squirrel (Abert squirrel). I found another image that I think is convincing:

That picture should be blown up. And put exactly where you said. That would be awesome.

Surely out of 265 photos you've got one that you can take to your local park ranger for a positive ID.

  • Bunch of Barrons

Too funny! :) Great shots of…whatever that is. Does anyone really know? :)

I almost dont want you to solve the mystery of the Napoleon, and I think s/he needs to be only called THE Napoleon.

  • MODG

F! WHAT IS THIS BITCH? I HAVE NIGHTMARES ABOUT IT I MUST KNOW.

  • Linz

I love Napoleon. I'm so curious as to what he actually is though.

I'm still convinced that Troy sent Napoleon.

Seriously, what the hell is that thing??

  • BusyDad

Napoleon was bred for his skills in magic. And bread heel eating. Napoleon is your guardian Pokemon. I make no sense. But neither does Napoleon.

there is no way I could ever be bored with Napoleon. He is the best thing evah.

I agree that the picture should be blown up & hung. And I also sorta don't want to know what Napoleon really is.

Because I like that he has an air of mystery about him…

Awesome! You know I was showing these pictures to the boyf and I was like WHAT IS THAT?!?! He said hm… don't know – why don't you google search for creatures with rabbit/cat/squirrel like appearances in that region… so I did… first thing that pops up is your blog. YOU WIN :) You've got the low down on some new species I'm convinced. The boyf is not, but what does he know. ;)
