Imagine my surprise when Troy woke up around 5? 6? a.m. and when I was sleepily retrieving him from his crib, I noticed a weird purple-orange glow throughout the house. I woke Jeff up to inform him that there was some real Blade Runner type shizz going down outside and he informed me it was a little something that people call "the sun coming up".

Who knew about this? Why didn't Colorado tell me? I took this off our back deck and I guess I pointed my camera towards the east. I wasn't wearing my contacts or glasses. Or possibly pants. I am going to start turning in earlier just so I can get up and watch the show.
It's on, Colorado. Bring it. (Just don't expect me tomorrow because I probably won't get home until midnight tonight which means I won't go to bed until 2.)

WOW! That's pretty.. Not as pretty as the back of my eyelids at 5am.. but still pretty. I think once in a life time is plenty.... :)
tHIS IS AN ABSOLUTELY PREETY PIC WITH A CUTER STORY !!!!
first I'm thrown off by the layout change.
2nd: so this is why stoners move to Denver.
Sweet!
Wow. Really? That's what a sunrise looks like? Impressive, even without glasses on!
Pretty? Absolutely. Worth waking up butt ass early for? I'm not convinced.
(Think of it this way, you've seen it. You got a picture in case your memory fails you. Now go back to sleep.)
Absolutely astounding picture -- you deserve a major round of applause for both the picture AND for getting up a crack-thirty!
Amazing, absolutely amazing. Just more of the beauty of Colorado!
i just recently found your blog and love it! your writing style is so fun :)
xo, em
Beautiful!!
Amazing! I'm an east coast girl and finally made it west just a few years ago and thought the sunsets were so different. I guess next time I gotta get up early enough to see the sunrise too!
That's gorgeous. I love Colorado.

That picture is fantastic. I think I'm here via Heather of the EO, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I can never get my ass out of bed for a sunrise either - the only way I catch them is if I've been up allllllllll night, and that has been a while. ;) Anyway, gorgeous shot. Now I'm going to go peek around your blog a bit.
HA! I love a sunrise. Unfortunately, my 9-5, which is really more like get up at 5 and wish I could go to bed at 9, allows me to see the sunrise everyday. It's a perk, I guess. To bad they don't look like that here in STL MO!
That is so hilarious. God bless sarcastic husbands!
Now that is a FABULOUS photo! I bet your neighbors love you! Ha ha. Just kidding.
Dude. You've already seen it once. Plus, now you have that picture. You are probably good for the next ten years or so. Go ahead. Sleep in. You wouldn't want to overdo it anyway, by waking up early everyday. Then you might take it for granted.
This philosophy also applies for getting out of church.
The sunrise and I hadn't been properly introduced until my little dude came along. Ah ha
Aww..I was recently in CO (where I grew up) to visit my family, and had a few grand nostalgic moments watching the sun rise over the mountains...it truly is gorgeous out there!
